An overdue return to a changed world
It has been quite some time, but I finally made a return to the C&C DTA servers and matched up with some veteran players, including the one who is known as the best PvPer in the entire community. Needless to say, I got wrecked a good number of times. After the top player left however, the tides turned and I was able to hold my own against the other veteran players, at least to a stalemate in several matches. It seems that much has changed with the game itself after my lengthy absence, from new units to gameplay rebalances to new quality of life updates.
A rusty blade still cuts
Between being rusty at the game and trying to get a grasp of the many new changes to DTA since my last activity, I opted for a highly defensive play-style (TCS "Sleeping Giant" strategy) which paid off. My foes felt a sense of security as I held off on attacking until I had an entire fleet of aircraft at the ready for a swift and brutal take-down of their critical assets, rendering them helpless against anything I threw at them from then on.
There was one enemy who managed to defend against my strategy which ended in a stalemate every match. Since he played as the Brotherhood of Nod, he managed to expand his territory virtually undetected, proving my long-ranged attacks to be inadequate as trying to locate his critical assets was simply not viable. We exchanged countless waves of high tier war machines in a brutal attempt at crippling the other, but neither of us managed to make much of an impact. We eventually agreed to call it a draw as we were too evenly matched. |
More updates are to come soon regarding the conquest of DTA's servers. Until then!
